I offer a complete range of personalized accounting services and business advice for owner managed business in the West Kootenays.

New Business
For a new business I can help you decide whether the business should be incorporated or start off as a proprietorship. I can help you decide on share structure for your corporation and liaise with your legal team.

I can help the new business owner select appropriate accounting software and guide you through registering your new business with the various tax authorities.

Financial Statements and Corporate tax returns
I will help prepare the year end financial information complete with a Compilation Engagement Report. As part of that I will also prepare the corporate tax return. This is an opportunity to help my clients with their accounting processes. Part of my role is to help clients learn how to manage their books and bookkeeping software as efficiently as possible.

Procedures Manuals
Even if you have been in business for a number of years, it is a good idea to review your financial procedures. I can help you prepare a procedures manual to assist in training new staff and identify opportunities to streamline your bookkeeping workflow. I can teach you how to you analyze the information you need to manage your business effectively.

About Me

After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and articling with Deloitte Haskins and Sells, I received my Chartered Accountant designation in 1988. After spending five years working on audits for international companies in Germany, I returned to Canada. In 1994 I established a public accounting practice in Nelson and have focused on a clientele of owner managed businesses based in the Kootenays. In 1998 my husband and I started the Walk In Clinic in the Chahko Mika Mall and I dealt with all the financial and administrative matters for the clinic until we sold the clinic in 2012. This experience has given me a whole new perspective on the challenges a small business owner faces.

When I am not at my desk, I can often be found tending my garden or playing with one of the pets.
